The branch I ate at (twice, it was good!) is "hidden" in Ritan Park, northeast of the St. Regis. A style-conscious local took me there, and I could see why. Really nice, understated modern Chinese ambiance. Just serene -- it would work well both as a romantic dinner and to entertain clients. And of course the food is good! A comparable restaurant in most major world capitals would cost a fortune, but dinner for two here is about $35 if you don't go crazy.

Not sure why there weren't any other foreigners there. The neighborhood is certainly foreigner-friendly (luxe hotels, embassies, etc.). And, as you know, the food is "accessible" (photo menu, too). Maybe they can't find the place -- it is sort of hidden in the park.
