I found this useful ticket here
http://www.bestflights.com.au/cgi-bi...indetails=3605
it is kinda useful to me since I am semi-based in HK, I buy a o/w home ticket and then use this to get back and after a long stay in HK go back again.
But as I know, there is a limit to how far out I can place the return (about a year right?).
Since I want to use the 1 year stay to the fullest extent possible, this makes it difficult since if I purcahse the ticket now, the required return date isn't available yet.
I call the folks there and they say the change would have to be done through them and the fee would be AUD$77 - which I find a bit amazing since that seems lower than Qantas's own fee??? Is this possible?
Also I found out that the ticket will book into 'O' class.
Now as I understand it - I can put in a dummy return date and then eat the $77 fee to change the return once the return date is available... but where does 'o' class fit into the pecking order? Is it hard to get availability or do I have to be watching 1 year out all the time?
Also - for changes like this -- as I understand it, as long as O class is available on a flight - I can grab the seat and there is no additional fare charge (i.e. only pay the change fee)
Is this correct? or will i need to pay more depending on which flight the O class is booked into?
