... I guess I am in the same boat. I may go accross as often as once a month also over the next year or so until my gf will be my spouse :-) and she can come to the US permanently. I did not want to stretch the Y vs. C issue with my new employer. I know if I perform well I should be able to get the business related flights in C, but those shouldn't be more than once every six months...

...with my new 'Dell' 12 hour (hopefully won't explode) laptop battery I was in deed hoping I can pound away a lot of work in conjunction with flynet, but as things stand I may have to consider UA, at least on night flights, because of reasons discussed herein and once I have LH FLT I hope they fill those unsold e+ seats with *Silver/Gold still...

I am also debating other creative options to get some sleep on the night flights to Europe: I.e. Virgin economy premium, taking the boat (?), there is this new all business class airline out of New York that advertises big in the US, buying systemwide upgrade vouchers for UA on eBay (what a hassle), etc. Other suggestions? My personal threshhold for real or close to C experience when I pay out of my own pocket (with miles or cash) is between 300 and 400 bucks per leg. I know this is low, but I have done it. And I only do it on the night flight.
