Sorry if this is a really dumb question, but my shiny piece of plastic is new and going to be used for the first time tomorrow and I don't want to look like a dork by handing them my card - "Yes sir, very nice, can I now take your name..."!

This is how I do it:

I walk up to the Hhonors checkin line. I get out my credit card i'll be using for payment and my diamond card. Also, within easy reach, is my printed confirmation, incase of any discrepancies.

When its my turn I hand the two cards to the person checking me in, they then verify my numbers, I verify the amount per night then I initial and I'm off to my suite!
