Mileage Plus Wireless (From UA)--Dont do it!

I am writing this as I am tearing my hair out!

I was in need of a new service and new cell phones so I thought--what the heck, I will use the Mileagepluse wireless program and get an extra 5000 miles for signing up. BIG MISTAKE! I ordered my phones (one for myself--one for spouse)

From the start the whole process has been a huge frustration. First of all United has set this whole program up in India. You will never-ever- reach a person on the customer service line in the states. That is if you can get someone on the line. 50% of the time the line will diconnect you as you are navigating the phone system. Option 2 will never work--it will always just dump you. If you email the customer service department---this will also go to India and they will get back to you the next day, with a response that will make no bloody sense.

I tried to contact them because I recieved the phones on Tuesday but they are not activated. I called Cingular and they told me it is out of thier hands and that Mileageplus wireless (which out sources to an Indian company called Inphonics has control of this and untill they turn it on--cingular can not touch the account. SO I call the customer service line (takes several tries ) and they tell me it will be Monday or Tuesday of next week till my phones are activated--no matter what I say or do there is nothing that they can do to get them activated earlier! The "activation department" handles that (also somewhere in India) but apparently nobody in customer sevice know where it is or how to contact them to get this changed.

GO DIRECTLY TO CINGULAR< NEXTEL< SPRINT< whomever you want a new phone with and get it direcctly from them. Not worth going through UNITED.

The customer service is a Joke and you will end up like me pulling your hair out.
