Friday: Dinner around 6:00pm at a Tempe/ MIll Ave. location to be finalized. I have a couple options in the works.

Following that:

Poetry Slam at Mills End Coffee House, 310 S. Mill Ave. in Tempe. Performances begins at 8pm. Free; just order coffee.

Located a 3 block walk from Macayos.

Following the Poetry Slam, folks have access to dozens of stores, restaurants, bars, and movie theaters in the immediate area within walking distance.

SATURDAY options:

Fly a Space Shuttle mission-- $17.50 on Saturday 10:30am or 1pm in Peoria (NW suburb of Phoneix, about a 30 min. drive from the airport.) Lasts 2 hours. Reservations required; details at http://www.azchallenger.org/public.missions.htm and http://www.azchallenger.org/calendar.htm

Arizona Living History Rendezvous
Saturday 10am to 4pm

Free

Recreation of historical Arizona through period interpreters dressed and acting various roles. Sounds like a really interesting event!! Takes place at the Arizona Historical Society Museum at Papago Park, 1300 North College Ave. in Tempe. Located 3 miles from the airport and 1 1/2 miles from the Friday restaurants/spots.

Arizona State Fair, at the fairgrounds about 5 miles from the airport. Details at http://www.azstatefair.com/

There were some folks interested in a Mileage Run seminar. I'd be willing to do one of those, too--- Saturday would probably be the optimal time.

For Saturday dinner, I think Bill Johnson's Big Apple is a good choice as a western-style steak house with character. The location at 3757 Van Buren St. is located less than a mile from Sky Harbor and is very accessible for folks on an overnight mileage run.

So, of the above options, which ones seem of most interest???
