No I can see the starwood is not really no black-out. For the hotel I looked, they do have standard rooms with two beds. In fact you can choose 1 bed or two beds (same price) if you pay instead of redeem. However, if you redeem your points, you don't have any option. there was only one option for that hotel.
One more question, since the hotel I looked have meals included, are they going to force me to get another room, or offer meals for only two guests if it says maximum occupancy is 2?
For a family vacation with kids (1 and 4), it just doesn't make any sense to have 2 rooms. I guess even if we book two room, we are going to stay in one only.
