I'm wondering if any of you hve any expereince in topping up or transferring points?
basically my mum has around 40000 AM which 20000 is about to expire at the end of the year. I have 20000AM.
I need a LHR HKG (U) return or a HKG LHR return (This is flexible). The 1st LHR HKG leg will set shortly before Xmas or the 1st HKG LHR leg will set around 10th Jan.
I know my chances are stupidly slim unless I fly on Xmas day or sth silly, but I'd like to ask which of the 3 choices should i go after. I was thinking since my return leg of either trip would be in Oct 07, I could easily have that seat confirmed and I only have to ticket when I've got the outward leg confirmed as well.
I believe this is a matter of 'how much time it takes to transfer points' cuz i think it is quite stupid to buy points from scratch rather than transfering the points you need.
Any ideas? both the AM and the trip?
In case I can't use the points in time.... better extending the period or splurge it on something? (But i believe 20000AM isnt gonna get me anything sweet)
