I had a D70 on lease for a while. I wasn't as impressed with it as many others. Sure, it's a good camera. But I think I had the monday issue as I had several issues with it, focusing being one. Every so often it could not focus. It would also randomly change focus/meetering spot regardless of what I had set it to.

Partly why I feel like getting a D50 isn't something I would like to do.

My housemate just got a 30D. He's happy as larry with it.

I actually think that Canon is what I want and not Nikon. I used to love the old 35mm canon SLR and took loads of pictures with those - pre EOS models. Got slightly put of by the EOS but hey - it's where I'm leaning towards right now.

I'll check out comparison charts on DPreview. I'm also keeping an eye on a 10D bundle.
