Yeah, the train from Schipol is definitely the best bet - fast, cheap and comfortable. The only reason I don't use it on arrival is because I go straight to the office and the train network would mean getting one to Centraal Station fast but then taking my chances on the two trains an hour to the office. But I DO use it during the day if I'm staying overnight, because I stay right near Centraal Station.

Anyway, I ramble. Any idea of your budget in euros? That'll make a big difference to which of the many near Centraal Station you can stay at.
