I can beat this one. I booked a flight through UA (codeshare) using my UA FF number. I was told by AC that I was on standby, because I didn't pay the $15/seat fee. AC is working its way towards the greats JETSGO, TWA, EASTERN, PAN AM, etc., and I'm going to laugh when they are gone. Westjet will be the new flag carrier for Canada.
