You are allowed to buy as many bottles of duty free alcohol as you want. They are delivered to you on the jet bridge.

This information is current as of last Thursday, September 7, 2006 when I took AA 44 to CDG.

Regarding some other recent posting on shipping alcohol, I concluded that since the Scotch I bought at a very good price ($135 a bottle for Johnnie Walker Blue Label) is already packed in cushioned boxes, I will not need any other packing material in my suitcase.
