Keep in mind that all the Malaysian mobile providers also work in Singapore, so it really depends on which country you will be spending the most time in. I use a Malaysian provider when I'm in the region, and that has always worked out very well for me. Same deal with the recharges, via 7-Eleven or Guardian Pharmacy (to name a few).
