I am just watching "Grounded on 9/11" on the History Channel and one of the stories related in the program is with respect to UA 23 EWR-LAX. The program notes that once the UA 23 pilot gets preliminary info about what was happening he decides to return his flight to the gate (the flight was still on the ground and the ground halt was not in place yet). The program goes on to say that once the flight returned to the gate four middle-eastern looking men ran off of the flight leaving their luggage. Further, it says that after going through their luggage al qaeda manuals, etc. were found.
I have never heard anything about this flight or this story? Has anyone else?
I've got to agree with the other two posters here. I mean, think about it...if they were really about to kill themselves, what would they need to check luggage for?
