Wow! You definately need an exit seat. NW is stingy with there seats at times. Do they ever allow exit seats assigned prior to the day of departure?
If you are going to be at an airport anytime prior to this flight try to check at the NW ticket counter (not the gates, agents are too busy) and see if they can override a seat for you or call somebody who can.
