Why would you buy on Orbitz? I'd deal with a BKK travel agent. You might also want to just buy the ticket BKK-LAX, and then buy a connecting ticket. I paid a bit under $1600 when I bought my C class ticket last December. (Probably $100 more now) I found nothing wrong with the KE service, I found the updated 747 interiors very nice to LAX. I got upgraded to the FC segments (BKK-ICN) both coming and going. The seat is a bit better, but not a great deal of difference.
