I would recomend China Air in F. I tried that recently (LAX to BKK) and it was very comfortable and comparable to (not *quite* as good as, but close) Cathay Pacific in F.

An F ticket on CI ex-BKK, purchased from the CI website will run you an additional 800 bones over your orbitz C ticket, so $3000 about total round trip (of course much more than that if ex-LAX.) Well worth it in my view for the 36 hours of your life you will spend in the air and in transit. And you might be able to get a better deal from a BKK agent.
