I think you'll really appreciate the separate SE line because until you can also print your own baggage tags online, the need to come face to face with an agent still exists. At least with your SE status you won't be more than 3-4 people back even when its busy.
BTW, I always take my daughter to the YYZ SE line when I'm checking her in for a flight.
