Failing that I'm quite up for trying Jet, but their website is quoting £2k plus - does anyone know if Jet have links with a consolidator/wholesaler in London who can offer better fares?

Thanks to everyone for advice/jokes/general amusement etc.

PS: Phil [G-BOAC] - once you've been to the front of the class, can we please have a trip report on what AJ class is like?
Well Darling the answer may well be that no one on the British Airways board actually flies with Air India. It is a bit of long shot when you ask about one airline on the board of another. Seriously pet I'm not sure where I would have asked this question, and here was as good as any I suppose but it is a bit of a long shot.

To the person who accused me of political correctness may I say this. I was not and am not in the least bit interested in political correctness - I am interested and concerned at a thread which had some really unkind inferences. That does not even begin to touch on the grossness of the subject (Gaza and Aj thank you both for your notes).

One of the things that we have prided ourselves about on the BA Board is that we rarely take to much seriously but we do love wit and humour above all. Nothing here is either funny or clever and says far more about you than it does about the people at whom you are sneering. Any crew member could lose you for filthy stories and the worst offenders are far closer to home.
