Could you please explain "crap service"...?

What is the difference between WBC service on the MD 11 and the B 767 ?? I would say that there is not much difference, except some more TV and Radio channels and a seat about an inch wider.....??

Beside that still the same service, which is certainly not crap service ..., or do you refer to the snow crab appetizer which is served these days in WBC...??

I seriously doubt that they rebook a party of 7 these days, NW cancelled quite a number of their transatlantic flights and those passengers have to be rebooked on other flights, mainly AMS-NW Hub flights, so I guess all flights to MSP and DTW are booked very very solid !

Northwest has cut some of their late departures ex MEM, so it makes sense to fly the 767 to MEM, even some months into the summer season ( the MD 11 used to fly year round, but they switched to a 767 for the winter season after SEP. 11 )
Right now you cannot connect to some cities anymore arriving on the MEM flight, so I guess KLM will take care of those passengers and rebook them on flights through DTW and MSP.The problem is certainly the late departure of KL 625...., so I would not be surprised to see KLM reschedule the MEM service to an earlier departure, same procedure as shortly after Sep. 11 to offer connections to more cities via MEM again...

You can certainly always try to rebook, but KLM made it clear ( with the cessation of the LAX/MIA/YVR Web@wards ) that they need WBC seats.....
