Some models are CLEARLY not effected by the recall - for example 17" powerbooks. I think the difference between a 17" and smaller model is SO clear that this blanket policy is just pathetic.
maybe to you and me and the next person, but there are many people that couldn't tell a difference between a Blackberry and a full blown laptop and some of these people are FAs.

Look, I'm not defending the policy, in fact I also think that it's stupid, but if the airline is going to implement it, it's just easier to ban anything with Dell or Mac name clearly imbedded somewhere on the case then it is to tell the FAs that 17" are ok, but 16 or 15" are not......and as per my example above, my iBook was on the recall list, but since it's fairly new, the battery was not......
