SYD may have been affected by last nights storms and winds today, but the gale warning has become a lesser warning.
May still make for delays at SYD today.

The warning:
Widespread Hazardous Winds
For Illawarra, Sydney, Hunter and southern Mid North Coast.
Issued at 11:15 am on Thursday 7 September 2006

Weather forecast: Sydney 16° Showers. Strong to Gale force winds.

A low is deepening east of Sydney this morning. S to SW winds are expected to reach 65km/h during today, particularly near the coast. Peak wind gusts may exceed 90km/h.
Mean winds of 65 km/hr have been reported so far this morning at Kiama and Sydney Airport.

The next warning is due to be issued by 5 pm Thursday. www.bom.gov.au
