Goodbye days of showing up to SYD 45 minutes before scheduled departuer for 870. Oh well, I guess an hour will have to do.

And I once made the mistake of trekking up to the north immigration facilities when I failed to clear the NC waitlist (even as a 1K!) and was at the back-ish (if you consider 35 the back) of the bus. Took much longer as you had to deal with the QF pax, all of whom have AUS passports, not a big problem at the South arrivals area. So, if you happen to have an AUS passport, stick south. Otherwise north may just possibly be worth a shot, but really only if you have no bags and no one is meeting you at the C/D exit.
