All SAS longhaul flights have PTV's, AVOD in Business and Economy Extra.

In-seat power outlets are located in Economy Extra and Business Class



Remaining SAS Mainline Fleet
Economy class is often referred to as P-class (Punishment Class) with notion to the fact that SAS went from full to no-frill in Economy with reduced legroom being introduced.


Onboard Catering
Note that:
  • SAS offers breakfast on domestic flights before 9am for free.
  • SAS NO and DK offers free coffee/tea throughout the day but not SE
  • They operate with buy-on-board in Economy short-haul
  • Two alcoholic beverages will come free of charge on long-haul flights in economy for after that you will be charged. Soft drinks are still included in the price


"Special Seats"
  • Seats to avoid are in the rear in the MD-series.
  • All Airbus A321 feature 15Volt power outlets.



SAS Eurobonus

There are four tier-levels within SAS mileage program
  • Basic
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Pandion (by CEO invitation only)

To qualify for each level one must earn Basic Points. The thresholds are as followed.

Silver
20 000 (all regions)

Gold
70 000 If you live in Asia & Pacific, Sweden, USA & Canada
55 000 If you live in Denmark and Finland
45 000 If you live in Norway/Countries not mentioned here.

Note that one is barred from earning points on Norwegian Domestic flights and on certain domestic Swedish routes.

Earnings in Booking Classes
Business Flexible - A,C (200%)
Business Discounted - D,J,O,Z (200%)
Economy Flex - Y,S (150%)
Economy - E,H,M,Q,V (100%)
Economy Discounted - G,K,L,T,U,W (25%)

Note Booking Class "B" earns 150% on intercontinental flying and 150% Europe/Domestic routes

Furthermore, flights in booking codes A, C, D, J and Z may also earn you Gold Level. The following is based on one-way flights with SAS, Widerĝe, SAS Braathens and Blue1

25 Norway and all other countries


The points/flight must be within a 12-month period based on when you enrolled.

Points expire after five, -5-, years.

  • Business-class check-in
    Also available when checking in with most Star Alliance Partners
  • 10kg extra luggage on SAS operated flights (bar to/from the US)(reported to work *A-wide)
  • Earn 15% extra Basic Points
  • Also benefits with non-airline partners
  • Benefits with *A Partners
Gold
  • Priority on waiting list
  • Guaranteed seat but not class with a SAS C-ticket (C,D) 48 hours before travel
  • SAS Hotline
  • *A Gold check-in/Business-class check-in
  • 20kg extra luggage (1 extra piece to/from US)
  • Lounge access (on *-ticket):
  • Scandinavian Lounges (only Gold card holders, not for C-tickets)
  • Business Lounge
  • Domestic Lounge Arlanda
  • Fast track (permanent) at OSL, ARN, CPH

SAS offer fast track at most of its stations where fast track is available.

Upgrades

Eurobonus members can upgrade class of service by using points.

The following applies one-way

European upgrades
From Economy Flex to Business - 10 000 Points


International Upgrades
From Economy to Economy Extra - 10 000 Points
From Economy to Business Class - 30 000 Points
From Economy Extra to Business Class - 20 000 Points

All upgrades are space available and only confirmed at the airport, either at check-in or gate.

Star Alliance upgrade scheme

Star Alliance upgrade awards permits EuroBonus members to spend points to upgrade by one class, either from Economy Class to Business Class or from Business Class to First Class on scheduled flights operated by participating member carriers, price are in points.

On board Scandinavian Airlines
A confirmed upgrade can be booked from Economy Extra to Business. In the near future this service will be available also from Economy to Economy Extra & Economy to Business and you can still use the standby at gate for EuroBonus points.
