When we were there the just a few weeks ago, there was also a brush fire along the road from OGG to West Maui. It was after the tunnel and somewhere near Chez Paul restaurant. Fire in the dry brush on both sides of the road. What a mess with traffic! As if traffic this past year hasn't become unbearable even without any fires!
