Not useful to you but perhaps for others planning a trip to Portugal, the luxury hotels outside of Lisbon are far superior to the Lisbon properties (which are merely average by European luxury standards; there really isn't any true luxury, these are closer to business than luxury hotels, perhaps inevitable with the nature of the Lisbon market). Some really stunning properties in the countryside, both historic and more modern. Similarly for Lisbon restaurants, it peaks at 1-star Michelin quality for the most part. But the fado restaurants are great, decent food and superb music.
