True, although I've never heard or read about an airline involuntarily bumping someone because they're on an award ticket. IDB is rare anyway.

Another difference is if your flight gets canceled. With a paid ticket, they might reaccomodate you on another airline. With an award ticket, it's note nearly as likely (although it does happen).
