You don't provide the answer to the question you must have asked... or at least should have: Why are your boarding passes assigning you to those seats assumed to be less accurate than the boarding pass of the other passenger? Other interesting questions: If there was to be a tie breaker, why would it not go to those who had been assigned to the seats first? Why not make a reassignment that disrupts as few passengers as possible?
My response to "the plane has to leave now" would have been to suggest they then hurry up and find that guy a seat.
