SQ tends to be fine with going over a little bit, I have done it multiple times with no charges but YMMV

i hate to disagree but it depends on which outstation. For sydney purposes, its done by the aerocare girls and i was the unfortunate victim of a girl who gave me an extremely long time at check-in and forced me to repack my bags at check-in when i was entitled to more. i was denied boarding. I have written into sq and till today it has gone unanswered. The SQ ground staff at Hong kong have however been very accomodating.
