Trip planner weather for PHX suggests it will be in the low 70’s in Phoenix. I have gone to Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak several times in February with the same temperatures and been happy each time and usually end up in a casita as a Gold. Be warned that there can be lots of kids, in that case you can try the sister property Tapatio Cliffs, fewer kids, but more, well, cliffs to climb up to your room. Neither are in the action near Scottsdale but I have never found them isolated. I can drive.

Arizona Biltmore is more expensive for points but I have not been. I have been to Hilton Sedona and two days there would likely be enough and it is a nice hotel. The surrounding area is absolutely incredible especially if you like mild hiking to see some sights. You can make your own mind up on the Grand Canyon, but if you have never been . . . . For California, Fess Parker Doubletree in Santa Barbara gets good reviews. I haven’t been. Oh, yeah, if you search squaw peak or Santa babrbara, there are tons of threads.
