Hi Guys, this was posted by mark Roberts on the KLM forum recently.
<< Sharing everyones concerns regarding the distinct lack of info on the FD changes, I enquired from one of the RW Lounge ladies in Amsterdam last thursday.
They were due to attend their training that afternoon so even they were not well briefed, but she very kindly looked up some of the manuals they had been issued with.
Four valuable points:
1. The conversion rate is approx 1.8 mile per point to mile you have in yr account.
2. RW members will be given Platinum Elite Cards for the first year, longer if they qualify already with FD points for future years ( ie multiples of 24,000 points.) Silver members will be given Gold Elite, & those almost reaching silver will get a silver card.
3. Platinum elite members will get a 100% bonus on service miles on all flights.
4. You will need 75,000 +flight miles each annum measured 31st Dec each year to renew to Platinum Elite. Business class earns x 2 rates of mileage for service & awards.
There is nothing she could find on KLMUK type of flights that are awarded double points just now. Perhaps they will continue to be classed as Commuter flights so get a business rate. That would mean on a STN (whilst we have it), approx 1,000 service miles for C class travel, 1,000 bonus for Pl EL members awardmiles = 2,000.
Nothing is indicated for frequency of flights at all rather than just mileage. this may mean the UK FD members as we are will lose out big time. (no longer 40 returns to get RW status).
If you make 75 returns per annum to amsterdam from the UK on KLMUK, you should be fine!!!!
Not much use to most of us.
Thats all folks, otherwise the staff themselves knew little else.
