You'd have thought with all the government business, there is plenty of business for a decent hotel.
Having said that, with a near-complete Holiday Inn and a rumoured Hilton, there may be too many rooms in the market even if there is still a lack of real top class hotels.
There's also an InterContinental in Welly that accounts for lots of government-related activity I think. Haven't stayed in ICs much but they seem pretty respectable.

I wouldn't go that far but yes it's a nice hotel. It's where I stay when in Auckland due to the lack of starwoods and some pretty amazing rates for its calibre. But now that there'll be a Westin in AKL soon, my LHW account activity shall go on a hiatus. :P
