Some local contacts advised us to go to a place they named 'little France'. I don't remember the exact name in Turkish but it turned out to be little old streets and narrow streets which had been remodelled to accommodate restaurants and some art galleries. One restaurant had a terrace on the roof and it was just great: candlelight dinner, romantic atmosphere and nice service. Was about 15 minutes walking distance from Taksim.
