I carry a few extra green tags in the side pocket of my roll-aboards and always tag the bag myself before I put it on the a-la-carte. I, too, am concerned if I'm changing planes at SEA, I don't want to have to run down to baggage claim to get a bag I thought I could retrieve plane side.
