Well, for CO elites on CO flights, it can be done via the website, either at the time of ticketing, or anytime after ticketing (e.g., if a travel agent purchased the ticket, you can go to CO.com yourself and process the upgrade). I have no idea how Co.com recognizes NW elite status, and doubt many regulars on this forum do either -- we're mostly CO elites! Certainly you can try doing it on the website, and let us know!
