Multicity trip and $50 Companion Fare..Do they work?

Does anyone know if you can use the BA $50 companion fare on a multicity trip? It would work great if it does work out. We will be able to maintain our MVP status with this one trip. Otherwise it is 1/2 the price to book a multicarrier trip. And no MVP.

Also does anyone know why the multicity booking option on the alaskaair.com site won't work? I selected our flights, seats, and then when I go to click "hold" it indicates that I am unable to hold it and gives me error 2909. I contacted the web chat and they are telling me I am booking on a partner, but all the trips are Alaska or Horizon. I was able to book seats for every flight. Therefore, now I have to call reservations and pay a $10/ticket fee since the website won't work? Any suggestions on this too?

Thanks
