We are unable to check you in. Please check in at the airport with an agent.

Tried checking in at the 24hr mark as suggested in other threads as a lowly Gold who needs every advantage when trying to upgrade, and received the following: We are unable to check you in. Please check in at the airport with an agent. I called up and she first said she had no idea what happened, then said it was because when flight was reinstated (agent had cleared my return segment when adding me to an early flight Monday) it was in L class instead of Q because there was no Q left and because of this I would be unable to checkin online. Just wondering if it was worth my time to call back and see if I can get a different CSR that could do something or if anyone else had any ideas. I'm just glad it wasn't an ssss, which my searching turned up a bunch of results mentioning a similar issue....
