I've stayed at both hotels and I think you can add some extra points and be upgraded to a better room and have transfers/breakfast included. One of the best kept secrets is paying double the starpoints for a suite room which is quite large and will accomodate 4 quite comfortably. Of course both of these hotels were category 1's the last time I stayed to doubling the points was not a big deal.
