Threy - many thanks for a great response. I had done some checking myself and yes, found the exact rate you mention for Ibis Airport as best looking deal at:

The stupid part is we do NOT want a room costed in with a greasy buffet breakfast for once. On that one day we fly early am on BA biz class, then to the Deluxe Concorde lounge at LHR, then BA Concorde to JFK, and make a dent in their 48 loaded bottles of Krug Grand Cru, then United First Class to LAX for 6 hours and then First to LAS, and then to dinner at LAS that same evening. so we do NOT need a hotel deal with breakfast this one time or we will both EXPLODE before midnight!

I suppose if I email the Ibis Hotel, the rate might be offered lesser if we choose not to have the breakfast included? But sadly you look correct that nothing even under 100 € will be possible near airport midweek. Priceline for US hotels has spoiled us far too much!

And what a shame we shall pass each other at airport same day. Joh and I have benefited greatly from your fine advice on this board in the past and would like to buy you a drink at least.

We get back from our LAS and Concorde run afternoon on Sunday June 9, in case anyone is about then? I may then fly somewhere cheap for a day or 2, or rack up 4 partners in the Star 55,555 point promo while Joh visits her Mum in Oudorn.

Scott C thanks for that info, but as mentioned we simply need a "crash pad" that evening and under 100 € is what I am hoping to swing somehow. There is not I guess a www.lastminute.com type site for Netherlands?
