Well, I've not yet been bumped on a NW flight (volunteered but wasn't needed), but if I were, I'd most likely take the free ticket - because I fly into one of those "weird" airports that themicah mentioned...YXE Typically, a roundtrip costs at least $500+ unless I'm using a PK zone voucher.
