I'm sorry to write meaningless after I reach the Platinum magic number. This will be my first time achieving this level in my very short SPG career. Of course, I will be staying after I reach it for the rest of the year. Hopefully they will continue with the promos. I already achieved the 2/3/5 K promo the first week it was available. Unfortunately I didn't get the double stays or the Free Weekends ones but it's okay.
At the Four Points in Montreal, I have treated very well by the staff and always received an upgraded room every time. I read the thread regarding whether or not platinums receive the best rooms based on past history. So maybe I will be lucky.
Next year I will be travelling more and would most likely reach Platinum again.
Thanks again for your great help everyone. If it wasn't for this site, I would never know what's going. I'm afraid I never received one email from SPG regarding any promotion includinng the 3/6/9 or the latest one.

Obviously, one meaningfull thing you could consider is building up status with another hotel chain, after you reach Plat with SPG. That way you keep your options open for the next year, depending where your travel plans are likely to take you...That's why I am, like so many others on this board, not only Plat with SPG, but also Diamond with HH and Plat with PC....
