Discovered this one in my search as well. Luckily, won't impact me until later -- I'll be travelling with AA when I make PLT, and don't have any upcoming travel shortly after my qualifying trips.

I'm a long-time UA 1K who won't requalify this year (I'll make 2P unless they run some special promotions that make mileage running worthwhile). That, in combination with the PLT challenge and the £198 all-in fares from LHR-JFK mean that it's really attractive for me to move my business over to AA...

...but it does mean learning a whole new FFP.
