As a PLT, with double miles, you should consider flying.
These threads are quite common, so I don't think there is anything new in the way to get miles. In any case, you can get 2250 from upgrading to Gold on points.com. Since points.com handles AA sharemiles, etc, these should post quickly. Yeah, It's only 7.55 cheaper, but you get more than double the miles you would get by buying them. Are you signed up for AAdvantage Dining? Have you considered eshopping?
