From reports in this very FT forum, Regent seems to be maintaining the high quality of the hotel. Because the hotel is now about 10 years old, one has to hope that Regent carries forth a major refurbishing of the rooms that takes into account the new competition.
I wonder if the hotel's dropping off of the magazine lists list might be explained by a "bloc-voting" factor - that is, people voting for it out of loyalty to the FS brand (sort of like the movie studios voting in a block for their own films at Oscars time).
