I had a curious exprience the other week. Booked a BA ex EUR on aa.com and had to change the first leg. I was told that as the journey had not begun, it would have to be re-priced and, lo and behold, there had been quite a significant (in relative terms) increase. I just cancelled the ticket.

Is this normal where the first leg has not been flown ?? I dont recollect ever encountering it before.
