I called DM and they said I have to fax our marrage certificate to some number to get the change approved. Does anyone know how long a name change takes?
Also, we have a roundtrip flight on Sunday/Thursday with her NEW last name on the ticket. Will she be able to get credit for the flight on her DM account with the OLD last name? Do you think it will be a hassle to get the miles posted?
I changed my wife's name on her account last year with a simple e-mail to the DM service center direct from the website. It took about 3 weeks or so for them to change it. She had no status and no documentation was required. It was pre-merger and could be different now. Other airlines did require a fax of the marriage certificate. US was the only one that did not.
We were in the same boat with travel on US shortly after the name change. When I was booking the ticket, the res agent told me that it would be difficult if not impossible to get mileage credit if the first initial and complete last name on the ticket didn't match the name on the DM account
