I'm renewing mine and not sure if it will be the new electronic passport that has just started being issued in Colorado. Look at this web link to see what the new passports look like...very similar to the BLUE ones everyone is talking about that have been around for some time. My last 2 passports-Issued in 1984 and 1994 were both blue and I've never seen any other color of passport for US citizens..I think a friend from Switzerland had one with a Maroon cover but can't be sure.
