This is not always useful. An example was my Brother who booked three award and one red e-deal on Qantas flights for MEL-OOL-MEL between Christmas and New year. This for himself, his wife and two young boys. He did this 355 days out in early January that year. The scheduled flights were changed in July to depart 4 hours earlier at around 6am; a very inconvenient time with two children under 6. He was given the option of full refunds, but it was too late to get award seats on flights during the christmas peak.
When does a change becomes "significant", the OP was talking about a 5 minute change. Or is "significant" in the eye of the beholder?
