That's funny. "Platinum" credit cards, particularly *wood-branded ones must cause all sorts of confusion for front desk personnel who aren't familiar with the distinction between true SPG Plat and other types of so-called Platinum products.
A friend of mine who has no SPG status at all has been upgraded as a Plat more than once by using his *wood "Platinum" Mastercard at check-in.
