BRU restrictions - think they'll change?
BRU currently has the most restrictive carry-on policy of any airport flying to the US. Specifically, they are not allowing cameras or iPods in the cabin. I can live without the iPod - my partner and I are flying in biz class to/from BRU this November - but we are both photographers and it'll be a cold day in hell when I check my camera equipment. I'm thinking of changing my tickets to fly through CDG instead, but I'm waiting a bit to see if they relax it a bit to allow cameras and iPods. They're currently allowing cell phones, PDAs, and laptops, so the camera restriction seems odd to me. Even the UK allows one bag in the cabin, which fits my laptop, camera, cell phone, and earphones.
Do you think Belgium will relax the restrictions? Should I just take my chances and cancel later if they don't? Should I switch to CDG now, when the fares are still low? Thoughts?
Of course, if I do change, I will write a letter to the Belgium office of tourism and tell them why I am not spending my tourism dollars in their country.
